WELCOME Welcome to the inaugural issue of The Viator Club newsletter. We felt compelled to put together a newsletter due to the overwhelming response to the conception of an Alumni+ club for the St. Viator parish. What we mean by Alumni+ is that The Viator Club is not limited to graduates of the school but also, non-graduating attendees, parents of students, parishioners and friends of the parish. We have been getting requests for feedback on the school and events being planned, including reunions and school functions. We hope this quarterly newsletter will answer questions and keep everyone abreast of the happenings at St. Viator. Since our inception we have had two reunions, the class of 1980 and 1960. Being one of the attendees at the 1980 reunion I can only say it really was a memorable evening! There are short articles and photos about both of the reunions in this newsletter. We have other reunions being planned so please check the notice board in the newsletter to see if your class is planning any get together or if other years need your help in finding classmates. The Viator Club has been able to assemble photos from years past so please look through the issue to enjoy looking at the history that has propelled this amazing parish to its staggering longevity. This is the perfect segue to a more serious note. We all know that many Catholic schools are struggling financially, and this includes us. We hope that by rebuilding a sense of community around St. Viator we will prevent it from becoming another statistic and a faded memory that we let slip through our fingers.
