JA in a Day November 5th, 2009: St. Viator students participated in JA for a day sponsored by Junior Achievement (JA). Not only did people who worked for JA arrived, but parent volunteers and neighborhood high school students helped, too. The main focus of the morning included human and natural resources, debits and credits, global marketplace, and product design. Some of the favorite activities of the sixth graders were finding out where objects were from, pretending to create our own restaurant, talking about places we have traveled to, and doing puzzles. When we received our certificates of achievement, Mr. Zavala explained that if we kept the certificate we could have a chance to get a scholarship when we are in high school.
