The Littlest Christmas Tree

Students Perform in Annual Christmas Program

On Thursday, December 20, St. Viator School performed the annual Christmas Program. This year, the students in the lower grades performed for the whole school in the afternoon and repeated the show for their families in the evening.

Our PreK students, 3year olds and 4 year olds, opened the show by singing 2 Christmas carols. They wore antlers and red noses for their first song of the evening show. Students in grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade performed the play titled The Littlest Christmas Tree. Fourth grade students acted out the scenes while each grade sang songs that went along with each scene. For the evening performance, each grade was dressed to match the theme of the song. Grade 3 wore Christmas lights as they sang "I'm Gonna Be Santa's Tree". Second Graders were dressed in black, wore Santa hats, sunglasses and bling as they danced and sang "Tiny Tree Rap". First Grade was dressed in red and green as they sang the song "Christmas Is". Kindergarten students wore colorful garland as they marched and sang "The March of the Christmas Trees". Students in grade 4 wore costumes for the play. There were trees, elves, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and a storyteller.

The final song of the show, "The Whole World is Waiting for Love", recalled that first Christmas night so long ago in the stable. All the students sang as Mary and Joseph stood center stage. The show was a great success.

We would like to thank all those who helped with costumes and decorations. Special thanks to Mrs. Giersch for all the stage decorations and to Mr. Sheets for setting up the stage, curtains and sound system. Thank you, Nicholas Stanley, an eighth grade student, for helping with the sound system during both shows.
