St. Viator in the News and Awards Registration of students

Cooperation is Key at St. Viator

St. Viator Students share time and talents.

At St. Viator the faculty always looks for opportunities for the students to work together and share their time and talents with others. Recently the older students have had the chance to work with the younger students on various projects. Working together is exciting and beneficial to all involved. The older children develop a sense of responsibility as they serve as role models for the younger students. Our sense of community becomes stronger as new friendships are forged.

The sixth grade students love to get together to work with their pre-k prayer partners each month. Whether it be making a fall craft, reading together, or praying together at all school prayer services, it is a positive experience for young and old alike.

At our Discovery Day on Magic in September the children from grades 6-8 organized and presented magic tricks and optical illusions . They shared their ideas with the younger children and helped the day run smoothly. Our fourth and fifth graders worked with the early childhood classes so that everyone could enjoy a day of fun and learning.

From time to time, the teachers will pair classes together to help each other with a particular topic. Our fifth graders recently worked with our fourth grade students on addition, subtraction, and problem solving. It was a great opportunity for the fourth graders to practice their math skills and a good review for the fifth graders as well!

These are just a few examples of the many ways the students and faculty at St. Viator work together to strengthen our sense of community, capitalize on the talents of our students, and have fun!
