As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank all those who have helped us enjoy the magic of reading and writing this year. Thank you, parents and teachers, for reading to our children. Thank you to our dedicated HEARTS Club volunteers who shared their time and talents reading to our first graders. Thank you to Mrs. Bollin, our Number 1 Junie B. Jones fan who has had us rolling in the aisles with her reading. Thank you to Mrs. Giersch, who makes our library the best around. We are so fortunate to have such a warm and inviting place to nurture our love of reading! Thank you to our Penguin, Easter Bunny, Hostess and Bubble Occupant, Ms. Kowalski, who has made Read-A-Plenty more fun than ever. Being a principal is a tough job yet Ms. Kowalski has found time to read with us. This year we again entered the Kids Are Authors book contest sponsored by Scholastic, Inc. Our second graders wrote a delightful adventure story, The Two Explorers and the Scientist. Our third graders were inspired to write a thoughtful story for our new President, YES WE CAN! WE ARE Ameri-CAN! Both books are exceptional!

Thank you, Kid Authors! Thank you, Mrs. Waldack, for helping us with anything and everything. Thank you for taking great care of our Starbucks display. Thank you to our talented SCRIPT actor/teachers, Rainbow, Cheyenne, Kate, and Lauren, who worked with students from Grades 4-8 to write 'pour quoi'(why?) stories to delight our audience this year. Remember to read, read, read this summer! Be cool-read!
