THIRD GRADE NEWS By Sara Shatat On Monday the 17th, the third grade class made leaves of kindness and a student of Mrs. Bollin wrote, "kindness is when you are nice and when you share" on their leaf. On the 19th, the students played 20 Questions and got candy for every right answer. Mrs. Bollin grades the students on reading, writing, math and spelling. She is a great teacher. She helps us with problems. The class learned a new cheer called the Rollercoaster. It goes like this: CHI, CHI, CHI, AHHHHHH!!! By Natalia Brzezinski On September 22, a very important Mass was held in our St. Viator Church. It was the Mass for the dedication of the Art Zone mosaic in honor of its ten-year anniversary. Our class was invited to sing "Jesus You are Bread for Us" at the Mass. It was an honor and everyone loved how our class sang. Then everybody went to the gym for root beer floats and ice cream. It was really fun. ENTERTAINMENT
HOLES This movie is called Holes. It is a story about a boy named Stanley who gets sent to a camp for boys who do bad things. The camp is called "Green Lake," but there is no lake or grass. At this camp, Stanley meets boys with odd nicknames like X-ray and Zero. Stanley doesn't know that his family's treasure is hidden at this camp. Stanley has to stay there for 18 months. I would have died out there. If you want to know why the movie is called Holes, it is because that's all the kids do all day long, dig holes in the hot sun. The camp leader knows there is a treasure, and that is what they are digging for. One day Stanley finds the treasure but he doesn't give it to the leader. He keeps it for his family, and they all live happily ever after. JOKES By Sean Cunningham
Why was Godzilla arrested for throwing a party?
Knock, knock! Who's there? The owl says! The owl says who? Exactly! What do you call a girl on a grill? Patty! |
TELEVISION By Niya Robinson My favorite show is America's Next Top Model with Tyra Banks. It comes on every Wednesday. Yesterday was the season premiere. Tyra and the judges picked 20 girls. The mean girl's name was Ebony. My second favorite show is One on One. In the morning before school I watch One on One. It is about a girl named Brianna who lives with her dad. She has two best friends named Spirit and Arnez. TRAVEL By Nathan Huzenis I went to San Diego this summer. My favorite animals at Sea World were the killer whales. Most killer whales swim at 28 miles per hour but not Shamu! She swims up to 30 miles per hour and eats up to 200 pounds of fish a day! My favorite part of the zoo was the reptile part. It was pretty much only lizards and snakes. The coolest part in the reptile section was the Komodo dragon. It has the stinkiest breath in the animal kingdom, and there was a dead deer inside its cage! SPORTS
WWE WRESTLING Ok, here we go! At the Allstate Arena there is going to be a main event. The main event is going to be "No Mercy." There are different matches. One of the matches is going to be a Last Man Standing match. A Last Man Standing match is when you can use anything. The people who are going to be in this match are Randy Orton and John Cena. If you want to come, it is on October 17. See you there! WHITE SOX By Brian Melgoza The White Sox are a team from Chicago. They play in the U.S. Cellular Stadium. They used to play at Comiskey Park. Their jerseys have white and black stripes. They have been losing the past few weeks. Every day, they are getting better. CHICAGO CUBS By Zach Stanley My favorite players are Alfonso Soriano, Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez and Jacque Jones. The song for the Cubs is "Go Cubs Go!" The 2007 team is battling for first place. I hope they go to the World Series. If they go, I think they will play the Boston Red Sox. Cubs rule! BEARS VERSUS COWBOYS By Ryan Williams On Sunday, the Chi-Town Bears will take on the Dallas Cowboys. We know they have a secret weapon: Terrell Owens. But Chi-Town has two: Hester and Urlacher. The Chi-Town Bears defense has been dominating the field. Hester will need to have a strong game. Urlacher needs to get into T.O's head. Let's hope Rex has a good game. |
