Night Ministry Earns $1,000 Grant
St. Viator Parish and School are excited to announce that the Night Ministry Program has won a $1,000 grant from the Archdiocese of Chicago. This past Lenten season the children at St. Viator School participated in the Operation Rice Bowl mission. This program encourages children to pray, learn, fast, and give as they prepare for Easter. Mrs. Johnson, mission coordinator for the school, and Thomas Cook, coordinator of Youth Ministry for the parish, applied for and received a grant that was being offered to organizations participating in ORB. These much needed funds will be used to continue the Night Ministry Program that St. Viator is involved with. Once a month, Mr. Cook, along with youth from the parish prepare food and deliver it to people in Humboldt Park. The program which has been operating here for ten years serves approximately 200 people each month. Operation Rice Bowl and Night Ministry are both great opportunities for us at St. Viator to work, in solidarity, for the needs of others. If you would like more information on this program, please contact the rectory.
