Christmas Program
The Christmas message is delivered through music, poetry, and drama. December 17, 2009
The Church was packed on the night of December 17 as the students of St. Viator presented the 2009 Christmas Program. After a welcome greeting from Father Charles, the Christmas Story was told through poetry and song by the Pre-School, Kindergarten, and First and Second Grade classes.
In the second half of the program, the students in Third through Sixth Grades performed the musical play, "The First Leon." The play tells the Christmas story through the eyes of Leon, a child who felt called to tell the world the true meaning of Christmas after he discovered that his name spelled backwards was "Noel." A cast of 16 students acted in the play, backed up by a choir and soloists who sang traditional Christmas hymns as well as original songs that helped further the story. Cast and choir joined in the finale to remind us all that Jesus is the true Bethlehem Star.
Musical direction and accompaniment for the program were provided by Mr. Michael Glenn and Mr. Edward Lally. Photos are courtesy of Mr. Craig Shutt.
