ENJOYING SPRINGTIME!

Miss Currie's Four-year-old Pre-K

The children in St. Viator's four-year-old Pre-K are having a great time enjoying the warmer weather and learning about all the changes that are happening outside. They have been involved in so many activities related to the theme of spring. In religion, we talked about how God made the world wonderful with all His beautiful creations, such as the trees, birds, flowers, the Earth, etc. The children have learned about flowers and plants and how they are starting to grow and bloom now that the weather is warmer. We even planted our own starter plants in the classroom and are waiting anxiously for them to start to grow.

The preschoolers are also learning that plants are not the only things that start to change and grow at this time of the year. They are learning that the warmer weather brings more baby animals, birds, and even insects. The children have just been introduced to their new temporary classroom pets, seven little caterpillars. They will observe the changes that the insects make from being tiny caterpillars, to forming a chrysalis, and finally emerging as butterflies. Doesn't Springtime bring so much joy and excitement?!
