  • Experiments

Fourth through Eighth Grade

Hands-on inquiry-based learning in our Science Lab:

  • Growing mold
  • Film canister rockets
  • Chemical reactions
  • Experimenting with gravity and inertia
  • Microscopic analysis of organic and non-organic materials
  • Dissecting owl pellets and chicken wings

Internet-enabled interactive learning:

  • Interactive solar system
  • Virtual heart
  • Roller coaster simulation
  • MyPyramid meal planning

Project-based learning:

  • Create animals that fit into real and imaginary ecosystems
  • “Earthquake-proof” a city
  • Design a “green” suburb
  • Model a renewable energy power plant
  • Plan an animal-friendly zoo

These topics culminate in an independent science product to design, conduct, display and report on a one-variable experiment
