Principal's Welcome

Greetings and welcome to St. Viator Elementary School!

It is a privilege to share with you the mission and spirit that resonates in our Catholic school.  For over a century, St. Viator has been a part of the fabric of Chicago’s Old Irving neighborhood and is proud of the generations of families that continue to choose our school for their children.  Our student-to-teacher ratios are enviable and contribute to our student’s academic success.  As we move forward in preparing our students for jobs which do not yet exist, we are challenged to provide the 21st century learning tools and experiences that will serve them long after their time at St. Viator. Collaborative learning, problem-solving skills, and establishing a framework for learning that supports student agency are a few of the ways we can ensure their success in high school and beyond.

Our students are supported in a faith-filled environment and encounter the love of Jesus Christ through the devotion of our mission-driven faculty and staff, attendance at Mass, daily prayer, and in sacramental preparation.  There is a foundation and culture at St. Viator that is steeped in our connection as brothers and sisters in Christ.  You can see this in action as our students serve their school, church, and community in so many ways.  I invite you to be our guest and tour our wonderful school. When you have the chance to meet our students, our faculty and staff, you will understand why St. Viator Elementary School continues to be a place where our children can grow and build their character in a Christian environment.

Many blessings,

Mrs. Rieger
