Dear Families,

Welcome to St. Viator Elementary School! For over a century, St. Viator has anchored Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood, and families continue to choose us for excellent academics, a true sense of belonging, and faith formation that meets the needs of the whole child.

As we celebrate our 125th anniversary, we are building on that legacy to shape a thriving future for the next hundred years of students. I am honored to lead St. Viator into this next chapter, bringing an Ed.D. from the University of Dayton, an M.A.T. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and two decades of leadership in Catholic, urban public, and suburban schools.

Here is what families can count on at St. Viator:

• Faith at our center. Students encounter the love of Jesus Christ daily through Mass, prayer, sacramental preparation, and a faculty who model a life of service.

• A welcome for every family. We are a Catholic school that is diverse and inclusive, where families of all backgrounds and faith traditions belong and every student is treated with dignity.

• Spanish and STEAM. Spanish is part of every student’s week from PreK through 8th grade, and students in Kindergarten through 8th grade learn STEAM with our dedicated STEAM teacher. In 2027-2028, we plan to launch the University of Notre Dame’s ECLIP program, with 30 minutes of Spanish every day in PreK and Kindergarten, and Project Lead The Way’s hands-on STEM curriculum in our middle school.

• Small classes and whole-child growth. We know each child well. Strong academics go hand in hand with character and social-emotional growth through our schoolwide PeaceBuilders program, so students leave ready to excel in high school.

• The arts. Students in 1st through 8th grade have art class, and our beloved Art Zone reaches every grade, including PreK and Kindergarten.

• Before- and after-school care. Our KidCare program runs from 7 to 8 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m., including half days and most early dismissal days.

• Placement at top high schools. Our graduates are well prepared and go on to leading private and public high schools across Chicago.
