St. Viator Invests in Technology

As part of our committment to educate students using the latest technology, St. Viator is proud to announce that recent upgrades have been made throughout the school.   Hardware and software has been installed to enable classrooms to use Skype(TM) to communicate with other Viatorian schools throughout the country and the world. In addition,  beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, students will use iPads to augment traditional classroom learning.  These improvements, along with the new language lab, two computer labs, SMART Boards and Mimio technology already present in the school, will continue to make learning fun and interactive for our students.

St. Viator is Going Green!

This year St. Viator students have taken steps to strengthen our efforts to “go green” throughout the school and parish. Two of our Student Council officers presented a proposal to the Parish Council and School Board and obtained approval to expand the recycling efforts in the school and church buildings in order to reach their goal of making St. Viator more eco-friendly. In celebration of Earth Day, Student Council sponsored a GO GREEN DAY which included 7th and 8th grade students presenting lessons to younger classes that highlighted the importance of being eco-friendly. The kindergarteners planted seeds, the 5th grader made bird feeders and the first graders were treated to a puppet show that showed the students the harmful effects of pollution and litter on wildlife. Student Council will be selling reusable lunch bags next year so that we can cut down on our lunchtime waste. St. Viator has been invited to cultivate and maintain a garden plot in the neighborhood community garden. These are just the beginning steps of a movement that we know will enrich the lives of our students and benefit Mother Earth. We are proud of our students, faculty and staff who planted the seed of change in our school and parish, and have helped nurture it.
