As we move through our second week of school here at St. Viator Elementary School, we are gratefully reflecting on an exciting return to school! Here's a look at how we welcomed our students to the 2025-2026 School Year.

Back-to-School Festival

We invited families to return to campus before classes started for our annual Back-to-School Festival! St. Viator students and their families enjoyed music, crafts, face painting, food and more! The Back-to-School Festival is a great way for our Eagle Community to come together before the first day of school. Our thanks go out to DMDL for organizing a great fest once again.

Welcome Teas

Dr. Rieger and Staff welcomed our First Floor Students to the school with their classroom orientation. The 3 and 4 year old Preschool families, and the Kindergarten families had a chance to meet their teacher and aide, and see the classroom! Our teachers rolled out the welcome mat to their families, setting a great tone for this year.

First Day of School

Faculty & Staff welcomed all St. Viator students back on August 18th! It was exciting to see all of our students: 3-year-olds up to our 8th Grade Class of 2026! Everyone is rallying behind this year's theme: Soar with St. Viator; Eyes on Christ, Hearts for Others, you can expect to hear more about that theme as we move into the year.

Special Guest

We hosted a special visitor on Monday, adding to the 1st Day energy. Mr. Greg Richmond, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Chicago, met students, teachers and staff at our Monday Morning Assembly. Afterwards, he visited the 8th grade classroom to answer student questions and impart wisdom. The superintendent's visit was a great opportunity to highlight our students and had our school spirit soaring high!

We send out thanks to the Office of Catholic Schools for coordinating Mr. Richmond's visit. And we thank Superintendent Richmond for visiting - he's always welcome to visit St. Viator Elementary School!

Celebrating the Week!

St. Viator parents gathered in the school yard last Friday to celebrate the end of our first week of school. Thanks to Junebug Cafe, everyone enjoyed coffee, beignets, and good company! This was a chance for parents to share time together. Onward!

Looking Ahead...

Students and teachers are settling into their classrooms and their schedules. There are great things in our September calendar, from Cross Country meets, to afterschool enrichment, and of course, our annual "Jog-A-Walky" Fun Run. Be sure to connect with us on our socials to stay current on the St. Viator happenings.

Our return to school has us feeling grateful and ready for the new year. We wish all students a safe and happy return to school!
