Friday "Faculty" Feature - Our New Associate Pastor
We are changing the format today, as we are featuring our new Associate Pastor, Father Michael Owen. While he is an important part of our Parish and School, I don't think he technically falls under the "faculty" label. Father Michael Owen joined the SS Viator & Wenceslaus Parish July 1st of this past summer. As our Associate Pastor, “Father Mike” works with Father Benjamin handling the business between our two church sites and ministering to our school. We reached out to Fath

Friday Faculty Feature: Intermediate Grades
The St. Viator 4th and 5th grade classrooms are partnered together, where each grade has a homeroom, but moves to the other classroom for specific subjects. Students learn how to navigate this new responsibility. Mrs. Iannelli (5th) and Ms. Hook (4th) lead our intermediate grade classrooms! This year, Ms. Hook is the 4th grade Homeroom teacher, and handles Math and Science for both grades. Mrs. Iannelli is the 5th grade teacher, and handles Reading, Writing, and Social Studie

34th K of C Annual Spelling Bee
It's always great to have the Knights of Columbus on the St. Viator campus for the annual Spelling Bee! This year marked the 34th year that St. Viator students gathered on the second floor of the Rec Center to start their spelling bee bid. In addition to the members from the Brownson Council of the Knights of Columbus, our own Mr. Slawik reprised his role as the official word pronouncer. 15 students started the bee, 3 from each grade, 5th through 8th. The students did well, w

Ash Wednesday
This past Wednesday, St. Viator students joined Catholics across the world in receiving ashes and beginning Lent. Kindergarten through 8th grade students attended a prayer service with our Associate Paster, Father Michael. Later that morning, Father Michael visited the Preschool classrooms to give ashes, and explanation, to our youngest learners. Students have listened to the readings all week describing how to pray, fast, and give alms. We will keep the focus on these practi

8th Grade Athletes Show Parents Love at Basketball Season Wrap-Up
The St. Viator Boy's and Girl's Travel Basketball teams wrapped up the '25-'26 season. The end of the season brings about the send-off tradition organized by the St. Viator Athletic Association (SVAA). During the halftime break of the last home game, 8th grade players are called to center court. Their parents are invited to come down from the bleachers to join them. Students gift their parents flowers and exchange hugs and well-wishes. It's a great acknowledgement of the comm

First Week of Advent
We returned from the Thanksgiving Break ready to embrace the Advent season. St. Viator students, faculty, and staff are thinking about Jesus in our lives, and how we can prepare for his coming at Christmas. The school's Nativity Scene went up in our south foyer. Thank you to the faculty and parent who pulled out all of the decorations, then pulled out all the stops to make a beautiful Nativity. At our Morning Assembly, two of our 8th grade students assisted Dr. Rieger with ou

Honoring our Veterans
Once again, we hosted our Flag Retirement Ceremony on November 11th, Veterans Day. The ceremony honors our veterans, and remembers those who have fallen in service to our country. Each year, we remember in particular St. Viator Alumnus Charles Kefer, Jr. The snow lingered on the front lawn, but St. Viator students gathered with their teachers by the campus flagpole. Members of our Student Council and National Junior Honor Society helped with the ceremony. Mr. Rieger, a Marine
